My craving for something spicy seems like never-ending! To accompany Korean Rice cake soup (I wrote the recipe in week 1), I made this easy but tasty side dish that I would say Korean although the main ingredient was German Turnip.
I was going to use the white radish which is common for winter in Korea, but what was available for this moment was a huge Kohlrabi(German Turnip – for more information, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohlrabi).
Ingredients for Spicy Kohlrabi Seaweed Salad
: (for the amount that you can see above on the picture) Half of a big Kohlrabi, 30gr of Seaweed, one shallot, 1 clove of garlic, 1 TSP of chili powder, 1 TSP of soy sauce, 1 TSP of Vinegar, 1tsp of sesame, 1/2 tsp of sesame oil.
1. Slice Kohlrabi, Seaweekd and shallot
2. Chop 1 clove of garlic finely
3. Add 2 to 1 and season with all the other ingredients.
4. Let it sit for 15 mins or more so that Kohlrabi gets the full flavour of the seasoning.
If you are having any type of noodle dish or rice dish, this salad makes a good match, I think.
